CPR Awareness and Emergency Preparedness at PickleMall @ Aperia Mall

October 27, 2026

Singapore, October 2026 – Ansac Technology (S) Pte Ltd, in collaboration with ZOLL Medical, recently participated in PickleMall at Aperia Mall, bringing lifesaving education into a public sports and lifestyle setting. Through an interactive public engagement activity, the team educated visitors on the importance of high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the differences between sudden cardiac arrest and a heart attack, and the role of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in responding to cardiac emergencies.

Held at Aperia Mall, PickleMall brings sport and community engagement together in a vibrant retail environment. The event provided an opportunity for Ansac Technology and ZOLL to connect with members of the public beyond traditional workplace and healthcare settings, encouraging greater awareness of emergency preparedness in everyday life.

Empowering the Public with Lifesaving CPR Skills

Learn High quality CPRRaise public awareness on AED

During the event, Ansac Technology and ZOLL hosted an open educational activity where visitors could learn about high-quality CPR and understand how timely intervention can make a critical difference during a cardiac emergency.

The activity also highlighted the distinction between sudden cardiac arrest and a heart attack. While a heart attack occurs when blood flow to part of the heart is blocked, sudden cardiac arrest happens when the heart’s electrical system malfunctions, causing it to stop pumping blood effectively. Although the two conditions are different, a heart attack can sometimes lead to sudden cardiac arrest, making public awareness and prompt emergency response especially important.

The team emphasised that high-quality CPR is a vital lifesaving skill that members of the public can learn. When someone collapses and is unresponsive with abnormal or absent breathing, recognising the emergency, calling 995 in Singapore, starting CPR and using an AED as soon as possible can help improve the person’s chances of survival.

Strengthening Community Preparedness with SCDF

The event also featured the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which delivered a talk on performing CPR during public emergencies. This complemented the hands-on educational activity by reinforcing the importance of knowing how to respond confidently when a medical emergency occurs in a public setting.

The involvement of SCDF further underscored the importance of public education and community readiness. When bystanders understand the appropriate steps to take while waiting for emergency responders to arrive, they can play an important role in the chain of survival.

Why AED Awareness Matters in Sports

With pickleball and other recreational sports bringing people together in shared community spaces, the event served as a timely reminder that cardiac emergencies can happen unexpectedly, even during physical activity.

An AED is designed to analyse a person’s heart rhythm and, when indicated, deliver an electrical shock to help restore an effective rhythm. Used alongside CPR, an AED can be a critical part of the emergency response to sudden cardiac arrest.

Beyond simply having an AED available, it is equally important for people to know where to find one and how to use it. Raising awareness of AED accessibility, CPR techniques and emergency response procedures can help communities become better prepared to act when every second matters.

Building a Safer and More Prepared Community

Ansac Technology’s participation at PickleMall reflects its continued commitment to promoting workplace and public safety through education, engagement and access to reliable lifesaving solutions.

By collaborating with ZOLL and supporting public-facing initiatives, Ansac Technology aims to encourage more people to recognise cardiac emergencies, understand the importance of CPR and AEDs, and take practical steps towards becoming more prepared to help others.

The experience also reinforces a key message: lifesaving skills should not be limited to healthcare professionals. With greater awareness and the confidence to act, members of the public can help make sports venues, workplaces and community spaces safer for everyone.
