Frequently Asked Questions
Fixed gas detection systems are permanently installed sensors and transmitters that provide continuous, 24/7 monitoring of a specific area for hazardous gas build-up. Unlike a portable gas detector carried by a worker, a fixed system is wired into the facility and can trigger alarms, shut down equipment, or activate ventilation automatically.
Our Honeywell fixed detection range covers toxic gases (H2S, CO, ammonia), combustible/flammable gases, oxygen depletion, and refrigerant gases, using electrochemical, catalytic bead, infrared and open-path sensing technologies.
Most fixed gas detectors should be bump-tested and calibrated at least every 6 months, though high-risk environments may need quarterly checks. See our Calibration & Maintenance Services for a schedule matched to your facility.
Yes, our engineers help select sensor type and placement, and our technical team supports installation, BMS integration, and ongoing calibration.
