Andel PIR WaterSave®
Motion sensor automatically activates and shuts off your water supply, can earn BREEAM WAT 03 credit
Water is a precious resource and water wastage from taps left running or faulty cisterns can be responsible for significant water loss if left unchecked. PIR WaterSave® is a reliable motion-sensor/valve system, allowing the supply of water when movement is detected and automatically switching the water supply off when no movement is detected. PIR WaterSave® is an effective water conservation solution, saving precious water, saving on water bills and can earn one BREEAM credit.
Designed to help achieve the requirements of BREEAM WAT 03.
PIR WaterSave® is an effective motion sensor flow control system, ideal for buildings with communal areas with running water.

Research conducted by the UK water industry finds that around 5% to 8% of toilets are continually leaking water
PIR WaterSave® can reduce your water bills by eliminating water wastage through leaky taps, taps and showers accidentally left running and importantly leaky loos which can all add up to a significant waste of water.
Water lost through faulty toilet cisterns can amount to a significant amount of water wastage, ranging from 215 to 400 litres per toilet per day. Nationwide, it is estimated that 400 million litres of water leak from UK toilets every day, which could meet the needs of 2.8 million people.
Example scenario based on the cost of water wasted from leaky toilets in a 500-bedroom hotel
If 8% of the hotel's WCs waste 400 litres of water per day based on a cost of £1.70 per 1,000 litres, the hotel could be paying £27.20 per day or nearly £10,000 per year for wasted water. This does not include dripping or leaky taps or when visitors leave a tap running.
PIR WaterSave® is an effective water sustainability solution suited to multi-occupant/visitor buildings such as:
- Office buildings
- Hotels
- Hospitals
- Care homes
- Student accommodation
- Public buildings
- Schools, colleges and universities
- Any buildings with communal facilities with running water
Benefits at a glance
- Saves on water bills
- Reduces water usage
- Reduces water wastage
- Protects against damaging and costly water leaks
- Ideally suited to multi-occupant/visitor buildings with communal areas with running water.
- Can earn one BREEAM WAT 03 credit
- 10-year warranty
Installed in any areas within a building where there is running water such as bathrooms, shower rooms, WCs and kitchens, the motion sensor automatically ensures that water is only supplied when movement is detected.
PIR WaterSave® system comprises a wall-mounted control panel and a 360º PIR (Passive Infra-Red) motion sensor which together control low-energy, motorised isolating valves, switching the water supply on and off as required, through the detection of movement in the monitored area.
The system can also connect to an existing PIR motion sensor lighting system.
Each control panel can manage up to three motorised valves and a further two PIR motion sensors if required.
PIR WaterSave® can achieve one BREEAM WAT 03 credit
PIR WaterSave® provides flow monitoring in line with the defined BREEAM standard WAT 03 and can earn one BREEAM credit subject to a successful audit by an authorised third-party assessor.
WAT 03 water leak detection and prevention
The aim of WAT 03 is to reduce the impact of water leaks that may otherwise go undetected.
